Teddy Bears for Military Service Members’ Children

Operation Military Guardian Bears

Monticello Lions donated dozens of teddy bears to the Guardian Bear Project of the Spinning Bobbin  4-H Club.  The 4-H members sewed camo vests for the bears.

Each vest had a secret pocket for a special note from the service member to their child or sibling, who then received the bear from the service member at the deployment ceremony.

Lions also donated a number of teddy bears as prizes at the annual picnic for special needs persons hosted by Monticello and other Lions Clubs at Weldon Springs State Park.
